Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa Rum pays homage to the legendary naval battles and rich heritage of the Caribbean. Inspired by the HMS Princessa, a Spanish vessel captured by the British in 1780 during the battle of Cape St. Vincent, this exceptional spirit showcases the remarkable artistry of rum-making. Under the command of Captain Charles Knatchbull and with Rear Admiral Francis Samuel Drake aboard, this 70-gun ship of the line was among the first to engage the French in the Battle of the Saints, fighting valiantly and embodying power and integrity.

Upon the first sip, you'll experience a delightful wave of tropical fruit notes, with hints of ripe banana, pineapple, and papaya. The deep mahogany colour hints at the complexity within. The nose reveals honeyed raisins complemented by a hint of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate, enjoy the sweet intensity of brown sugar and crème brûlée, beautifully balanced by dry, toasty oak. As the rum unfolds, notes of dark chocolate and a whisper of oak emerge, culminating in a long, warming finish that lingers with caramel and tropical spice.

Craftsmanship

Hailing from the picturesque Caribbean island of St. Lucia, Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa Rum is meticulously crafted by the Saint Lucia Distillers. This premium rum contains Coffey still rum pulled from the lower sections of the still, resulting in a robust and complex flavour profile. Aged for 5 to 9 years in Bourbon and Port casks, the rums are expertly blended together by our Master Blender to achieve a unique character.
