Nothing captures the essence of Orange quite like Cabernet—vibrant violets, blueberry, and cassis, layered with hints of winter greens and cigar box. The palate bursts with generous fruit, unfolding into a refined, savoury finish with fine tannins and subtle oak influence.

Serve at 16–18°C and pair with roasted lamb, duck confit, or a mushroom and truffle risotto. Decant for 30 minutes to fully reveal its depth and complexity.

No. 17 is a summation of its finest vineyard blocks—5 + 7 + 2 + 3 = 17. The 2022 vintage was marked by challenges, particularly for Merlot, which typically leads this blend. However, in a unique turn of events, Cabernet Sauvignon took centre stage with its characteristic small berries, while Malbec, for the first time, stepped into the spotlight, adding depth and colour. Sourced from the cool-climate vineyards of Orange, this blend reflects Philip Shaw’s meticulous craftsmanship and deep understanding of terroir.
