Unwrap the Magic: The Wine Shop's Perfect Christmas Wine & Bubbles Case 🎄🍷🥂

It's that time of year again, the cosy nights are drawing in and we're starting to think about Christmas. We are delighted to share with you our Christmas case and we're going to talk through the wines now and unbox these with you.

The first wine in the case is the La Fornarena Rosé Prosecco. This is a fantastic wine for sharing with friends or for opening on Christmas morning. It's lovely, fresh and fruity, it would pair really nicely with strawberries and pastries, great Christmas breakfast idea.

Following on from this we've got the Jacques Bruere Cap Classique Brut, this is a sparkling wine made in the same style as Champagne and has extensive lees aging so it's lovely and rich, toasty, just like Champagne, it's a great wine for raising a toast on Christmas Day, or having with a mince pie maybe just before lunch.

The next wine is the Little Cricket Gruner Veltliner, this is from Hungary and it's a really zesty, very fruity, light, easy drinking style and we recommend this one if you've got friends coming over during Christmas week and you want to open something to share with them, this is a lovely little wine.

The next wine that we have is the Ilusionista Rueda Verdejo from Spain, this one would pair really nicely with fish, so we recommend this for Christmas Eve, if you're going to have the traditional fish dinner on Christmas Eve, this would pair really, really nicely.

Moving on, we're going to talk about Christmas dinner.

We've got the Dulong Bordeaux Blanc. This is a blend of Sauvignon and Semillon. It's a lovely dry wine, nice and fruity, and it would pair really well with starters such as smoked salmon and cream cheese, or maybe a goat's cheese salad.

The next wines that we want to talk about are the accompaniment for the main course. So if you're having a traditional turkey lunch, these would be fantastic wines.

For the white option we've got the Famiglia Pasqua Passimento Blanco Veneto. This is a really rich, lovely wine with lots of tropical flavours, a nice long mouthfeel and it's reasonably full-bodied. So it's fantastically paired with turkey. And then the red option we recommend the Riversdale Pinot Noir. This is a beautiful light style of red, so great for having with turkey but it's got a nice bit of earthiness and a sort of meaty texture to it, so we recommend the Riversdale.

For a slightly fuller style of red with your Christmas dinner then we recommend the
Pont-a-Pierre Lussac Saint-Emilion. This is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, so it's a bit richer, it's a bit bolder, lots and lots of black fruits in there, but a nice smooth one at the same time.

Moving on to Boxing Day and beyond, we recommend the Salice Salentino. This is a red wine from the south of Italy, it's really smooth, it's really really fruity, it pairs beautifully with beef, so if you're thinking of having something like a beef wellington during Christmas week or another rich beef dish this would pair perfectly.

Then we've also got the Tiempo and Tierra Tempranillo Crianza from Spain, very similar to Rioja, it's got lots and lots of black fruits and a lovely note of vanilla on there as well, so this would be a great one for having Boxing Day, maybe with your leftovers.

Moving on then, we're going to talk now about the dessert wines that we have in the Christmas case. So we have the Windsor Special Reserve Ruby Port, so this is a really fruity style of port, a great one for having either with your dessert
on Christmas day, maybe Christmas cake, or later on in the day when you're opening presents and unwinding.

And finally, we've got the Prince de St.Aubin Sauternes. Sauternes comes from the Bordeaux region in France. It's a beautiful sweet wine, lots of honey, lots of apricots, and a little bit of spice in there as well so this would also be a perfect accompaniment to desserts over the Christmas period or just for enjoying with friends and family.

This is our Christmas case is £159 and you can order it online at vinoshop.co.uk or you can pop into the shop we'd love to see you in the run-up to Christmas.
