About this wine
A Masterclass in Nuits-St-Georges
Discover the elegance and depth of Domaine Alain Michelot's Nuits-St-Georges Vieilles Vignes 2021, a cuvée that captures the soul of one of Burgundy's most revered Pinot Noir regions. From the domaine's oldest vines, this wine offers a poised and expressive interpretation of Nuits-St-Georges, where purity, structure and terroir come together in remarkable harmony.
The village of Nuits-St-Georges is celebrated for producing wines of intensity and finesse. Its limestone- and clay-rich soils lend a subtle mineral thread, while the gentle southeast-facing slopes allow the grapes to ripen with grace. Domaine Alain Michelot, a long-established family estate, upholds traditional techniques and thoughtful vineyard care to preserve both character and authenticity.
On the nose, the wine reveals refined aromas of raspberry, cherry and wild strawberry, layered with hints of rose petal, forest floor and delicate spice. The palate follows with silk-lined tannins and bright, lively acidity, holding generous fruit at its core while savoury undertones and subtle oak add dimension. The finish is long, elegant and quietly persistent. Serve at 16–18°C after a short decant, and pair with roasted duck, beef bourguignon or soft and hard cheeses.
