“40 years in the cask, hand-painted bottle, 20% ABV — this is Port as an occasion in itself. Not for every night, but for the right night it’s extraordinary.”

About this wine

Exquisite & Rare

Barão de Vilar 40 Year Old Tawny Port is a masterpiece of patience and craftsmanship. Matured in oak for four decades, it reveals extraordinary layers of dried fruits, roasted nuts, caramel, and warming spice. Silky and endlessly complex, each sip is a journey through richness and refinement.

Presented in a stunning hand-painted bottle, it makes an unforgettable gift for a milestone celebration or a treasured addition to any collection. Both luxurious and distinctive, this port pairs beautifully with fine cheeses, rich desserts, or can be enjoyed on its own as the ultimate after-dinner indulgence.

About the producer

Barão de Vilar is a distinguished Port house rooted in the van Zeller family's fourteen-generation connection to the Douro Valley, formalised as a modern estate in 1996. Their celebrated hand-painted Tawny Ports — spanning 10, 20, 30, and 40 years of ageing — are prized for their artisan presentation and extraordinary complexity. Sourced from the family's estates in São João da Pesqueira and Torre de Moncorvo, they represent benchmark aged Port.
