About this wine
Valpolicella with the Volume Turned Up
Ripasso is made by refermenting Valpolicella on the skins left over from Amarone, and the result is a deeper, richer wine than standard Valpolicella. This one is deep ruby red, with aromas that open on fresh cherry and dark berries before turning towards sweet spice. The palate is full and velvety, with ripe tannins and enough acidity to keep everything lively. It finishes long and warm.
Made from Corvina and Rondinella grown in the Veneto, with a light touch of oak to round the edges. This is a wine for proper food, so pour it with slow braised beef, a mushroom risotto, or a plate of aged Parmigiano. A good bottle for a cold evening when you want something with real weight behind it.

Where This Wine Comes From
Valpolicella sits in the hills north of Verona in the Veneto. Ripasso is made here by refermenting young Valpolicella on the skins left behind from Amarone, which gives it a depth ordinary Valpolicella does not have.
Corvina and Rondinella
The classic Valpolicella pair. Corvina brings sour cherry and lift, Rondinella colour and gentle spice.
The Ripasso Method
Ripasso means repassed. The wine spends time on Amarone skins after fermentation, picking up extra body, alcohol and warmth.
