“Quinta da Pedra Alta is a rising Douro estate and this Tinto is a serious red — Touriga Nacional-led, structured, dark and complex. The Douro at its best.”

About this wine

A Journey Through the Douro Valley

Pedra a Pedra Tinto is an expressive red from Quinta da Pedra Alta, one of the Douro Valley's most respected estates. The name — 'Stone by Stone' — reflects the stony, terraced vineyards where native varieties including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca and Sousão are carefully cultivated at high altitude.

Deep ruby in colour with enticing aromas of ripe dark fruit, wild herbs and a hint of spice, the wine leads to a balanced, structured palate with soft tannins and a lingering, elegant finish. A natural partner for grilled meats, hearty casseroles or aged cheeses.

About the producer

Quinta da Pedra Alta is a premium Douro Valley estate located near Alijó in the Cima Corgo sub-region. The quinta holds the extraordinary distinction of having three original granite markers from the historic 1758 demarcation of the Douro wine region on its land. Since 2018, under owner Ed Woodward, resident winemaker João Pires, and Australian consultant Matt Gant, the estate has emerged as one of the Douro's most exciting producers of structured table wines and traditional Port.
