Curry is one of the trickier wine pairings because heat amplifies tannins and alcohol. Off-dry whites are the safest route: a German Spätlese Riesling, a demi-sec Vouvray or an off-dry Gewürztraminer all bring a touch of sweetness that cools the heat while their acidity keeps things lively. For milder curries — korma, tikka masala — a dry rosé or a light, fruity red like Grenache can work well. Avoid high-alcohol, tannic reds, which will make a hot dish feel hotter.

Sale items and gift cards can't be returned.
