About this wine

Fifth Growth with a Remarkable Story

Les Allées de Cantemerle comes from the renowned Château Cantemerle, a Fifth Growth estate in the Haut-Médoc with origins traceable to the 14th century. The final château added to the famous 1855 Classification, it is celebrated today for elegant, classically styled Bordeaux of structure, finesse and impressive value. Principally Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The excellent 2018 vintage offers layers of blackcurrant, plum and cedar alongside refined tannins and a long, savoury finish. Already approachable and enjoyable today while capable of rewarding further cellaring — an excellent introduction to one of the Médoc's most respected classed-growth properties.

About the producer

Château Cantemerle is a Fifth Classified Growth of the Médoc, located in Macau in the Haut-Médoc appellation. One of the largest classified estates in Bordeaux, the château's vineyards are set within a beautiful wooded park and have been producing wine since the Middle Ages. Their wines offer classic Haut-Médoc character — dark fruit, cedar and elegant tannin structure with notable approachability. Les Allées de Cantemerle is the accessible second label of the estate.
