A classified-growth Bordeaux estate in the Haut-Médoc, with winemaking history stretching back to the 14th century. It's a Fifth Growth in the famous 1855 classification, making classic, age-worthy, Cabernet-led Left Bank reds — often considered excellent value for a classed-growth Bordeaux. Its name means singing blackbird.

Cantemerle was famously left off the original 1855 list — and only added after its owner, Caroline de Villeneuve, produced 40 years of sales records proving her wine had long fetched Fifth-Growth prices. It became the only estate added to the classification for over a century, which is why some references still mark it with an asterisk.

We offer a 365-day return policy — a full year to return unopened bottles, which is far longer than most independent merchants. To be eligible, items must be unopened, unused and in their original packaging. Return postage is arranged by you (we recommend a tracked service), and once we've received and inspected the return we'll refund your original payment method within five business days. Sale items and gift cards can't be returned.

Every order is packed in specialist wine packaging built for safe transit, so breakages are rare — and fully covered when they do happen.
