Why we chose it“Old-vine Carignan from the Languedoc — rustic, earthy, dark and full of personality. Not the most polished wine in the shop, but character in spades.”

About this wine
Gavelot Vieilles Vignes Carignan is crafted from old-vine Carignan grown in some of the oldest vineyards in the Languedoc region, where low yields and careful winemaking result in exceptional concentration and complexity. The wine offers a rich and deep profile with aromas of dark berries, blackcurrant, and a touch of leather, with complex flavours of ripe plum, blackberry, and subtle earthiness on the palate.
Aged in oak to add depth and structure, it delivers smooth tannins, a touch of spice, and a round, lingering finish. Serve at 16–18°C alongside slow-roasted lamb, grilled steak, rich beef stew, or a mature cheeseboard.
