A Taste of Heritage
Discover the charm of Percheron Old Vine Cinsault, a wine that encapsulates the rich history and character of its vineyards. With roots dating back to old vines, this exceptional wine offers a delightful blend of tradition and modern winemaking, making it a wonderful choice for any occasion.
Rich Flavours and Aromas
Percheron Old Vine Cinsault showcases a vibrant ruby red colour that beckons from the glass. The nose is bright and expressive, revealing an inviting bouquet of fresh pomegranate, red berries, and subtle savoury notes. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine rewards with juicy fruit flavours and refreshing acidity, featuring a harmonious blend of crunchy cherry fruit and delicate gamey undertones. The age of the vines contributes to a naturally restricted yield, enhancing the wine's depth and character.
Crafted with Care
The vines, mostly 40-year-old bush vines from hidden corners of the Cape, benefit from an ideal climate for viticulture. With low summer rainfall tempered by cool afternoon breezes and cold winters, the vines build up essential reserves. Remarkably, no irrigation is used in the vineyards, and very little crop control is necessary due to the age of the vines. All grapes are harvested by hand at optimal phenolic ripeness, followed by a fermentation process using dĂ©lestage, which oxygenates the juice, resulting in a lower concentration of tannins and a higher concentration of estersâkey compounds that enhance the wine's fruitiness.
Perfect for Any Occasion
Whether you're sharing a meal with friends or enjoying a quiet evening at home, Percheron Old Vine Cinsault is a versatile companion. Its approachable nature makes it a favourite among both seasoned wine lovers and those new to exploring reds.
Versatile Pairing Options
Delicious when slightly chilled, this Cinsault's bright, earthy notes and refreshing acidity marry beautifully with a range of dishes. It pairs perfectly with Asian duck, pork belly, stir-fried beef, and even carpaccio of tuna, beef, or game, enhancing every dining experience.

Great service from the he Wine Shop, really quick delivery well packed and the wine was splendid.
Wine Shop offered the best price and I can highly recommend them.
My first ever wine from the Wine Shop! This is a beautifully smooth wine but which also has a bit of âbiteâ. Very happy with this wine and Iâll be back!
Bought this as a present for my 22 year old son who was 15 when he first had a taste on a D Day visit 7 years ago. The wine is just as I remembered it, smooth and round, a delicious drink. My son also enjoyed the taste, as an adult.
It doesnât get better than this!
I love Botter chianti. It has a great peppery finish and the bottle is a delight. Quick and reliable delivery too.
Amazing wine and a 24 hours delivery service.
Excellent service. Thank you
Very moreish sparkling Pinot Grigio at a reasonable price. Light and refreshing with none of the acidity or slight chemical aftertaste you often get with sparkling wines at this price. Went through a dozen bottles far too quickly.
This full fruity , complex red is our absolute favourite!
A delightfully crisp NZ wine with a citrusy finish. Well worth the money and went down well with all who participated
This is a superb wine - full but not heavy, fruity and smooth. Perfect for sharing on an autumn evening.
Stunning depth and rich body. I can almost tell if a red wine is going to be good by the lack of a white rim around when you pour the glass. This has a lovely blood ted colour and delivers.
I'm just going to be honest here, I'm a Gavi Girl and have been trying to find this little gem for a while. It's absolutely delicious and so adaptable too. Thrilled with the price, delivery and service and happily ordering more!
A lovely drink and remarkably good value . Smooth and buttery with that unmistakable Napa terroir writ large. Nothing not to like.
Another fantastic wine tasting. But with a difference. Wine bottles concealed in black numbered bags 1-7. Black glasses. So we were unaware of what we were tasting, having to rely on taste and smell alone. We had tasting notes to guide our thoughts once we had made a few notes ourselves. It was great fun. I managed to at least figure out whether or not the wine was red. But missed the rose and mistook one white for red.
The Wine Shop tasting are great fun. Highly recommend.
Great evening getting confused and educated at the very interesting Mystery Wine Tasting with 7 secret wines in black bags to taste using black glasses so you couldnât tell if it was white, rose, or red. Kelli and Caroline gave great guidance and helped us work through what we were smelling and tasting to get to a grape and country. My two fears were that (1) I wouldnât recognise a Tempranillo (especially as it turned out to be one I have often purchased!) and (2) that Iâd actually like a Merlot!!! (Luckily there wasnât one đ). Another brilliant wine tasting.
