About this wine

Prova No 1 represents the purest expression of Quinta da Pedra Alta's hillside vineyards, drawn from old vines in the Cima Corgo and matured slowly to reveal its full depth. The 2015 vintage is now wonderfully evolved, offering a graceful blend of dark berry fruit, subtle spice and a savoury complexity that reflects both heritage and terroir.

The palate is poised and layered, carrying flavours of black cherry, plum and cocoa, lifted by notes of dried herbs and warm earth. Silky tannins and gentle bottle age create a long, harmonious finish, making this a truly elegant Douro red ready to enjoy.

About the producer

Quinta da Pedra Alta is a premium Douro Valley estate located near Alijó in the Cima Corgo sub-region. The quinta holds the extraordinary distinction of having three original granite markers from the historic 1758 demarcation of the Douro wine region on its land. Since 2018, under owner Ed Woodward, resident winemaker João Pires, and Australian consultant Matt Gant, the estate has emerged as one of the Douro's most exciting producers of structured table wines and traditional Port.
