Why we chose it“Albarino is the grape I recommend to anyone who thinks they don’t like white wine. Crisp, saline, peach and citrus — brilliant with seafood.”

About this wine
Albariño is Spain's most celebrated white grape, and the Rías Baixas region of coastal Galicia is its spiritual home — a green, Atlantic-influenced corner of Spain where ocean breezes, granite soils, and high-trained vines produce whites of extraordinary freshness, aromatic complexity, and natural acidity. Alba Vega Albariño is a beautifully expressive example of everything that makes this grape so loved by wine drinkers around the world.
From the first pour, it's lively and inviting, with a bright pale straw colour and a bouquet of fresh citrus — lemon zest, grapefruit, and lime — intertwined with white blossom, green apple, and a characteristic stony, mineral quality that comes directly from Galicia's granite-rich soils. On the palate, it's bright and precise, with crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing finish with a delicate saline hint that speaks of the nearby Atlantic coast.
Albariño's naturally high acidity makes it one of the world's finest food wines, particularly alongside seafood and shellfish. In Galicia, it's the traditional accompaniment to fresh fish, octopus, and all manner of coastal produce — a pairing that has been perfected over centuries and simply works every time.
Pair with oysters, mussels, grilled langoustines, sea bass or turbot, grilled prawns, sushi and sashimi, or a simple platter of chilled shellfish. Also excellent with light salads, goat's cheese, and tapas. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C.
