Why we chose it

“Made in the Lafite cellars from vines just east of the château, which is as close as most of us will get. Give it an hour in a decanter and something roasted — lamb, beef, or aged cheese.”

About this wine

Anseillan from Château Lafite Rothschild stands on its own, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of the Lafite teams. Produced in the renowned Lafite cellars, this Bordeaux red embodies the same love, passion, and attention to detail that the estate is known for, ensuring unwavering quality from vintage to vintage.

It presents a deep, rich colour with aromas of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, and subtle notes of tobacco and spice. On the palate, the wine is fresh and dense, offering a perfect balance of power and lightness — ripe and expressive, with smooth tannins and a long, elegant finish.

Produced from vineyards just east of Château Lafite Rothschild, between the château and the Gironde, where cooler, more clayey soils impart a distinct character. Ideal with roasted meats, grilled steaks, game, or aged cheeses. Drinking window: 2024–2030.
