Why we chose it“Spicy, full-bodied South African Shiraz — black pepper, dark plum, warmth. The name says it all. Great with a braai or a hearty winter stew.”

About this wine
The bouquet of this full-bodied wine suggests tremendously ripe fruit, reminiscent of spicy plum jam. A ripe, sweet-fruited nose bursts with berry fruit, pepper, and vanilla, with subtle hints of Karoo bos adding a touch of wild herbaceousness. On the palate, a full, rounded mouthfeel introduces rich plum flavours that echo the nose, evolving beautifully as the glass stands. Smoke and spice emerge to add layers of complexity, while rounded tannins make for very easy drinking. This wine will continue to develop with great benefit over 4–5 years.
A fantastic food wine, particularly suited to rich stews and hearty winter dishes. Pair it with spiced game casseroles, stuffed roast pork or lamb, or aged cheeses and smoky barbecued meats.
Situated between the Breede River and the Langeberg mountains in Robertson, Bon Courage Wine Estate is home to the Bruwer family, who craft a diverse selection of fine wines.
