About this wine

A Refined Expression of Pomerol

Château La Patache Pomerol is an elegant and sophisticated wine from one of Bordeaux's most prestigious appellations. Acquired in 2012 by Peter Kwok and his son Howard, this small estate of just 3.5 hectares — spread across nine plots — has unique terroir with soils rich in fine gravels and iron-rich clay in the subsoil. One hectare faces the renowned Château Clinet, perfectly positioning this estate to produce wines of great quality and character.

Deep garnet in colour, with enticing aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, and hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, rich and smooth, with ripe dark berry fruit and a touch of chocolate. Fine tannins are well integrated, providing structure and balance, while the finish is long and smooth with a subtle minerality.

Predominantly Merlot with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, this Pomerol pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, or duck. Its full-bodied nature makes it an ideal choice for special occasions or pairing with a gourmet meal.

About the producer

Château La Patache is a small Right Bank estate of 3.18 hectares in the prestigious Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Planted to a classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc across nine separate parcels, the vineyard dates to the 1800s and has been restored and modernised since 2011 under the ownership of Peter Kwok. Investment in both cellar and vineyard has elevated the estate's wines, which express the rich, plush fruit and velvety texture that define the finest Pomerol.
