Why we chose it“Proper English bitter is getting harder to find, and this Mendip-brewed one is built on balance rather than force. Pour it cool rather than cold, with bread and strong cheese.”

About this wine
Crown and Glory is brewed by Cheddar Ales, founded in 2006 by Jem Ham at the foot of the Mendip Hills beside Cheddar Gorge. Like the rest of the range it is made with Mendip spring water, and it sits squarely in the English premium bitter tradition, a style built on balance rather than force.
It is golden and bright in the glass, with an inviting aroma of toasted grain, floral hops and a touch of honey. The palate is clean and approachable, with balanced bitterness, medium body and satisfying depth, finishing crisp and refreshing. An easy-going, well-made ale for an unhurried evening.
