About this wine
Ribera del Duero Without the Wait
Roble means oak in Spanish, and it describes a wine given a short spell in barrel rather than the long ageing of a Crianza or Reserva. This Tempranillo is deep ruby, with intense aromas of ripe black and red fruit, black cherry, blackberry and plum, alongside cocoa, black pepper and toasted wood. Floral notes and a mineral sensation reflect the terroir of the region. Balanced acidity keeps it fresh, while well integrated tannins give a silky, elegant structure.
Ribera del Duero sits high on the Castilian plateau, where fierce summer heat and cold nights build colour and concentration in the Tempranillo grape. Serve it with roast lamb, grilled steak, or a plate of jamón and Manchego. A generous red that still knows when to stop.

Where This Wine Comes From
Ribera del Duero runs along the Duero river on Spain's high Castilian plateau. Fierce summer days and cold nights build colour and concentration in Tempranillo, the grape that dominates the region.
Tempranillo
Known locally as Tinto Fino. Black cherry and plum fruit carried on firm structure, which takes well to oak.
Roble
Spanish for oak. A Roble spends a short spell in barrel, enough to add spice and cocoa without the long ageing of a Crianza or Reserva.
