A Cabernet Sauvignon Masterpiece from the Penedès

Familia Torres Mas La Plana 2019 is a wine of exceptional elegance and depth from one of Spain's most celebrated estates. This single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Penedès presents a bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, cassis and dark cherries, enriched by cedar, tobacco and a touch of cacao — hallmarks of eighteen months ageing in French oak.

Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, with refined tannins and a complex, lingering finish of spice and earthy undertones. Decant for at least an hour and serve at 16–18°C alongside roasted meats, game or a selection of rich cheeses.

About the producer

Founded in Vilafranca del Penedès in 1870, Torres is Spain's most internationally celebrated wine family. Under Miguel Torres Sr., the estate pioneered the introduction of French varieties and temperature-controlled fermentation in Spain during the 1960s. Mas La Plana — a pure Cabernet Sauvignon — famously defeated Château Latour at the 1979 Gault Millau Wine Olympics and remains the estate's flagship wine. Today the family leads the wine industry in sustainability and climate-change research.
