Thatchers Cider Orchard Brandy

Why we chose it“Apple brandy is criminally overlooked in this country. Distilled from their own Somerset cider and oak-aged, it is what I reach for after dinner instead of a cognac.”

About this wine
Thatchers has been making cider in Somerset's Vale of Midsomer Norton since 1904, and the Orchard Brandy represents the pinnacle of their craft: a genuine apple brandy distilled from their Somerset cider and aged in oak casks to produce a spirit of remarkable depth and character. This is a uniquely English spirit — part apple eau de vie, part cider spirit, entirely its own thing.
Rich amber gold in the glass with a distinctive orchard aroma of baked apple, pear, warm cinnamon and a subtle floral note. The palate is smooth and warming with concentrated apple fruit, vanilla and gentle oak spice, finishing dry and complex. Sip neat after dinner, or use as the base for an elegant apple sour cocktail.
