About this wine
The Federalist Zinfandel is a bold, full-bodied Californian red from Lodi, made from old vines that stay true to the character of the grape. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry and plum mingle with black pepper and vanilla spice. The palate is plush and juicy, with a structured core of dark berries, oak spice and good tannin, finishing long and smooth with a lovely hint of vanilla crème brûlée. A real crowd pleaser for lovers of rich, fruit-forward reds.
The Federalist calls itself America's original craft wine: bold, proud and fiercely independent. Its family-owned vineyards were planted as early as 1962, head trained on original rootstock, and each block is fermented separately before twelve months in a mix of French and American oak.
