Pinot Grigio has a pink-tinged skin, and when the juice is left in contact with it for a few hours the result is this pale, delicate blush. The aromas are floral and gentle, cherry blossom and honeysuckle rather than anything loud, and the palate is fresh and clean with a raspberry and apricot finish. At 11.5% it is light on its feet, and it is dry despite the soft impression the fruit gives.

Sicily gives the ripeness that keeps a wine this light from tasting thin. Serve it thoroughly chilled with antipasti, a plate of grilled vegetables or a simple pasta with fresh tomato. It is an easy bottle to open on a warm evening when nobody wants to think too hard about what they are drinking.
