Why we chose it“Château Musar is unlike anything else in the world. Lebanese red, Cabernet-Cinsault-Carignan, aged for decades — earthy, exotic, unforgettable. If you’ve never tried it, you should.”

About this wine
Château Musar Red 2017 is an equal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan from the high vineyards of Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. The colour is a bright ruby. Sweet red cherries, mulberries and plums fill the nose, with a hint of tea tree and liquorice sitting behind them. The tannins are soft and beautifully integrated, the acidity keeps everything fresh, and the fruit runs deep through a long, lingering finish.
Musar is one of the wine world's true originals. Each variety ferments with its own natural yeasts in concrete vats, spends twelve months in French Nevers oak, and is then blended and bottled without fining or filtration. Cellared well, a wine like this will age beautifully for decades. Serve at 16 to 18°C with grilled lamb, roast beef or a spread of Lebanese mezze, or with aged hard cheeses.
