Musar is Lebanon's most famous winery and one of the wine world's true originals. Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in the Bekaa Valley, it built an international reputation from a country almost absent from the fine-wine map — becoming the defining ambassador for Lebanese wine. Its long-lived, complex reds are unlike anything else, which is exactly why they're so revered.

Under Serge Hochar, winemaker from 1959, Musar continued producing throughout Lebanon's civil war (1975–1990), missing only a couple of vintages during the worst of the fighting — a feat that made it a symbol of resilience. Serge was named Decanter's first-ever Man of the Year in 1984, and the family still runs the estate today, farming organically.

We offer a 365-day return policy — a full year to return unopened bottles, which is far longer than most independent merchants. To be eligible, items must be unopened, unused and in their original packaging. Return postage is arranged by you (we recommend a tracked service), and once we've received and inspected the return we'll refund your original payment method within five business days. Sale items and gift cards can't be returned.

Every order is packed in specialist wine packaging built for safe transit, so breakages are rare — and fully covered when they do happen. If anything arrives damaged, take a few photos and send them to hello@vinoshop.co.uk. We'll send you a return label and get a fresh replacement on its way as soon as the return reaches us. No fuss.
