A Natural Expression of Terroir
Tasting Notes
Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment presents a vibrant pale straw colour with a hint of green. The nose is a delightful bouquet of barley, apricots, peaches, and tropical fruits, all underpinned by well-balanced acidity and subtle oak flavours. On the palate, citrus notes emerge, lingering beautifully on the aftertaste, creating a refreshing and memorable experience.
Craftsmanship
Crafted with a natural approach, this wine showcases the fruit from the oldest Chenin Blanc block on the farm. Grapes are handpicked in the early morning to preserve their freshness and kept at low temperatures. After de-stemming and gentle crushing, the juice settles for nearly two days at cold temperatures before being transferred to barrels and concrete egg-shaped tanks for fermentation. Spontaneous fermentation, without the use of commercial yeast, allows the wine to express its unique character and the essence of Delheim's terroir.
Following fermentation, the wine matures on its fine lees for nine months, receiving a light filtration and minimal sulphur before bottling. It is then stored at an optimum temperature for an additional year of bottle maturation, ensuring depth and complexity.
- Vibrant pale straw colour with green hues
- Aromas of barley, apricots, peaches, and tropical fruit
- Well-balanced acidity complemented by oak flavours
- Citrus notes that linger on the palate
- Natural fermentation process highlights terroir
Food Pairing
Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, fresh salads, and creamy pasta. Serve chilled to enhance its refreshing qualities and bring out the vibrant flavours.

This Primitivo is waaaay above the equivalent you would be able to buy in a supermarket at a comparable price point.
It pairs really well with Lasagna and rich meaty pasta dishes. Stands up well with strong flavours, such as garlic.
In fact it would pair well with a beef stew from any country, goulash etc.
It is also a lovely velvety wine that could be enjoyed on its own after the meal.
Fantastic value and easy drinking, in a good way.
Great service from the he Wine Shop, really quick delivery well packed and the wine was splendid.
Wine Shop offered the best price and I can highly recommend them.
My first ever wine from the Wine Shop! This is a beautifully smooth wine but which also has a bit of ‘bite’. Very happy with this wine and I’ll be back!
Bought this as a present for my 22 year old son who was 15 when he first had a taste on a D Day visit 7 years ago. The wine is just as I remembered it, smooth and round, a delicious drink. My son also enjoyed the taste, as an adult.
It doesn’t get better than this!
I love Botter chianti. It has a great peppery finish and the bottle is a delight. Quick and reliable delivery too.
Amazing wine and a 24 hours delivery service.
Excellent service. Thank you
Very moreish sparkling Pinot Grigio at a reasonable price. Light and refreshing with none of the acidity or slight chemical aftertaste you often get with sparkling wines at this price. Went through a dozen bottles far too quickly.
This full fruity , complex red is our absolute favourite!
A delightfully crisp NZ wine with a citrusy finish. Well worth the money and went down well with all who participated
This is a superb wine - full but not heavy, fruity and smooth. Perfect for sharing on an autumn evening.
Stunning depth and rich body. I can almost tell if a red wine is going to be good by the lack of a white rim around when you pour the glass. This has a lovely blood ted colour and delivers.
I'm just going to be honest here, I'm a Gavi Girl and have been trying to find this little gem for a while. It's absolutely delicious and so adaptable too. Thrilled with the price, delivery and service and happily ordering more!
A lovely drink and remarkably good value . Smooth and buttery with that unmistakable Napa terroir writ large. Nothing not to like.
Another fantastic wine tasting. But with a difference. Wine bottles concealed in black numbered bags 1-7. Black glasses. So we were unaware of what we were tasting, having to rely on taste and smell alone. We had tasting notes to guide our thoughts once we had made a few notes ourselves. It was great fun. I managed to at least figure out whether or not the wine was red. But missed the rose and mistook one white for red.
The Wine Shop tasting are great fun. Highly recommend.
