Why we chose it

“Sancerre Rosé is one of France’s best-kept secrets — Pinot Noir grown on the Loire, made into pale, bone-dry rosé. More interesting than Provence and a brilliant match for fish.”

About this wine

The Sancerre Rosé, AC, Domaine de la Perrière is a beautifully poised expression of Pinot Noir grown on the chalky limestone slopes of the Loire Valley. Delicately pale in colour, it offers aromas of wild strawberries, red cherry and subtle floral notes, all carried by the region's hallmark freshness.

On the palate, this is dry, crisp and quietly complex, with gentle red fruit flavours, bright acidity and a clean, mineral finish. Elegant rather than overt, it is an excellent choice as an aperitif, with light salads, seafood, or summer dining where finesse matters.

About the producer

Domaine de la Perrière is one of Sancerre's most storied estates, with an ancestral connection to the appellation stretching back to the 15th century. The family's 43 hectares of flinty silex vineyards across five districts produce Sauvignon Blanc of striking purity and minerality, aged in naturally carved cave cellars. Acquired by Jean-Louis Saget in 1996, the estate — now led by sons Arnaud and Laurent — continues to define Sancerre's benchmark style.
