Why we chose it

“Maremma is Tuscany's wilder coast and this wine has that rugged edge. Sangiovese and Cab Sauv with real depth — decant it and serve with a tagliata.”

About this wine

Under the Tuscan Stars – Ad Astra 2022

Fattoria Nittardi’s Ad Astra 2022 takes its name from the Latin “to the stars,” reflecting the estate’s ambition and artistry. This expressive Maremma DOC blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc delivers ripe dark cherry, plum and spice framed by supple tannins and a long, refined finish.

Aged in French oak for added complexity, Ad Astra showcases the modern face of Tuscan winemaking — rich yet elegant, powerful yet poised. A beautiful companion to roasted meats, hearty pasta, or simply a quiet evening glass.

Certified organic.

About the producer

Fattoria Nittardi is a historic Chianti Classico estate with roots in the 16th century, when it was owned by Michelangelo. Now in the hands of the Femfert family, the estate produces classic Chianti Classico alongside the 'Ad Astra' range from their Maremma property near the Tyrrhenian coast, combining old-world heritage with careful, terroir-driven winemaking.
