About this wine

La Chapelle Blanc is a bright, aromatic white from the rolling hills of Gascony, pale yellow in the glass with flashes of green. Grapefruit leads the nose, backed by citrus and exotic fruit, and the palate follows with passion fruit and zesty lemon. Freshness and aromatic intensity sit in lovely balance, giving a generous, easy-drinking white at a gentle 10.5%.

It comes from Domaine de Pellehaut at Montréal-du-Gers, one of the oldest vineyards in the Gers, where brothers Mathieu and Martin Béraut also make Armagnac and raise Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle in harmony with the wildlife around the estate. Only their best vats of Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay and Gros Manseng go into La Chapelle Blanc, which rests on its fine lees for a few months to build texture. Serve it chilled with roast chicken, pork or a simple piece of grilled white fish, or pour it as an aperitif on a warm evening.

About the producer

Domaine de Pellehaut is a family estate at Montréal-du-Gers in Gascony, owned and run by successive generations of the Béraut family for more than 300 years and one of the oldest vineyards in the Gers. Brothers Mathieu and Martin Béraut farm 180 hectares across three gently rolling hills of clay-limestone, sand and clay, producing Armagnac and breeding Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle alongside a range of fresh, aromatic and easy-drinking wines, all in harmony with the rich biodiversity around the estate.
