About this wine

Mezan XO Jamaica Rum is a celebration of the vibrant flavours that define Jamaican rum. Carefully selected from casks at two renowned Jamaican distilleries — Monymusk and Hampden, one of the oldest sugar plantations in the country — and aged between 4 and 23 years, each rum is re-casked and married for further years before bottling. The result is a rich and complex character that showcases the artistry of the island, with no added colouring, sugar or flavouring.

On the nose, ripe tropical fruits — banana and mango — intertwined with vanilla and caramel. The palate reveals layers of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and a hint of spice, culminating in a warm, lingering finish. Pure, unadulterated Jamaican rum at its very best.

About the producer

Mezan is a British independent bottler of Caribbean rum, founded in 2012 by Neil Mathieson, who had been shipping casks home to England for further ageing for years beforehand. Single-origin releases from Jamaica, Panama, Trinidad and Guyana are bottled without added sugar, colouring or flavouring — the house position being that rum should arrive as the distillery made it.
