This 2016 Riesling Spätlese from the iconic Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard is a dazzling expression of Mosel craftsmanship from the highly regarded S.A. Prüm estate. The famous south-facing slate vineyard, named for the ancient sundial that tracks the sun, produces Riesling of extraordinary natural sweetness, concentration and finesse.
Honey and ripe peach mingle with apricot, citrus and a characteristic slate minerality on the nose, while the palate balances luscious sweetness with zingy acidity in perfect harmony. Beautiful now with spicy Asian cuisine or roasted duck, and will continue to evolve in the cellar for many years.
