Why we chose it“Four hundred and fifty-eight apple varieties in one bottle, which is either madness or genius. Somerset in a glass, and stronger than it tastes — go steady.”

About this wine
Thatchers 458 Cider is crafted from every one of the 458 apple varieties found in John Thatcher's Exhibition Orchard at Myrtle Farm in Somerset, a true showcase for the heritage of the apple. The Thatchers cider makers have carefully blended all 458 varieties to create a perfectly balanced, medium cider with plenty of body and depth of flavour. At 8.4% ABV, this is a cider of real substance.
Rich, rounded and complex, it rewards slow drinking and makes a fine partner for mature cheddar, roast pork or a hearty ploughman's. A limited-edition bottling that celebrates more than a century of Somerset cider-making.
