Why we chose it

“Cantemerle is one of the last of the Haut-Médoc’s classified estates and consistently delivers. Cedar, cassis, classical Bordeaux structure. A benchmark bottle for the appellation.”

About this wine

Château Cantemerle 2015 captures the poise and pedigree of a true Haut-Médoc classic. A Fifth Growth of the 1855 Classification, this vintage delivers a beautifully balanced expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, offering layers of cassis, cedar and subtle spice framed by silky tannins. The 2015 season was one of Bordeaux's finest in recent decades, lending the wine remarkable depth and approachability even in its youth.

With time in bottle, it has evolved gracefully — complex aromas of forest fruits, tobacco and graphite unfold into a long, elegant finish that epitomises Left Bank sophistication. Ideal for cellaring or savouring alongside fine roast meats and mature cheeses, this is a wine of quiet confidence and enduring charm.

About the producer

Château Cantemerle is a Fifth Classified Growth of the Médoc, located in Macau in the Haut-Médoc appellation. One of the largest classified estates in Bordeaux, the château's vineyards are set within a beautiful wooded park and have been producing wine since the Middle Ages. Their wines offer classic Haut-Médoc character — dark fruit, cedar and elegant tannin structure with notable approachability. Les Allées de Cantemerle is the accessible second label of the estate.
