Why we chose it

“Ageing wine under the sea sounds like a stunt, and I went in sceptical. The texture it comes back with is real though — saline, citrus-driven Albariño that belongs next to oysters.”

About this wine

Crafted just a stone's throw from the Galician coastline, Attis Mar Albariño is a white wine that hums with maritime influence. Grown in granite-rich soils and matured on fine lees, it captures the freshness of sea spray, the zing of citrus, and the subtle salinity of Atlantic winds.

What makes it truly extraordinary is a unique underwater ageing process at a depth of 12 metres for six months. This gentle, oceanic cradle adds an extra layer of texture, depth and purity — as if the sea itself helped shape the wine.

About the producer

Attis Bodegas y Viñedos is an acclaimed Albariño specialist based in the Salnés Valley in Rías Baixas, Galicia. Named after the ancient deity of vegetation, the bodega works with old-vine Albariño grown close to the Atlantic coast, where the cool, humid maritime climate creates wines of exceptional aromatic intensity and vibrant acidity. Their Lías Finas cuvée is aged extended time on fine lees for added complexity, while Mar Albarino is a single-vineyard wine from coastal parcels.
