Why we chose it

“Verdelho hits the sweet spot — off-dry, honeyed, with enough acidity to keep it lively. This is the Madeira that works as both aperitif and dessert wine.”

About this wine

A Perfect Balance of Sweetness and Spice

Blandy's Verdelho 10 Year Old captures the essence of Madeira's versatility — lively, aromatic and beautifully poised between dry and sweet. Aged for ten years in seasoned oak casks, it offers aromas of dried apricot, toasted nuts and warm spice. The palate is smooth yet vibrant, with flavours of honey, citrus peel and caramel leading to a long, gently tangy finish.

Equally at home as an aperitif or after-dinner wine, it pairs wonderfully with savoury tarts, pâtés or nutty desserts.

About the producer

Founded in 1811 by John Blandy, Blandy's is the oldest and most celebrated Madeira wine house, remaining in family hands for seven generations. The company controls extensive vineyard holdings across the island and maintains a historic lodge in Funchal with library wines dating back to the 19th century. Blandy's four classic styles — Sercial, Verdelho, Bual, and Malmsey — represent the finest expression of Madeira's unique and extraordinary fortified wine tradition.
