About this wine

A Cult Classic from the Cape

The Chocolate Block by Boekenhoutskloof is one of South Africa's most celebrated reds — a masterful blend of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. Rich, layered and complex, it bursts with dark cherry, blackberry and hints of mocha, all wrapped in supple tannins and a long, spicy finish.

As indulgent as its name suggests, but with serious structure and elegance beneath the surface. A perfect choice for roast lamb, venison or an evening that calls for something truly special.

About the producer

Boekenhoutskloof is one of South Africa's most acclaimed wineries, founded in 1776 and reestablished as a modern benchmark estate in Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands. Revered for blending innovation with terroir-driven intensity, the winery is best known for The Chocolate Block — a richly layered, Syrah-led blend that has become one of the most sought-after South African wines internationally. A powerhouse of the Cape's modern winemaking renaissance.
