Château Montelena is one of the most storied estates in Napa Valley, famous for producing the Chardonnay that won the 1976 Paris Tasting (the 'Judgement of Paris'), defeating the finest Burgundies in a blind tasting and establishing California's place on the world fine wine stage. Founded in 1882, the estate produces Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel from mountain-influenced estate vineyards that produce wines of considerable complexity and age-worthiness.
