Why we chose it“Unoaked Tempranillo, so you taste the fruit rather than the barrel. A useful midweek red, and very good with lamb chops off the grill.”

About this wine
Tempranillo is the backbone of Spanish red wine, and in Navarra it tends to arrive fresher and more supple than its Rioja cousins. This unoaked example leads with red fruit, cherry above all, backed by baked plum and pomegranate and finished with a herbal edge that keeps it lively. The body is medium, the tannins are grainy rather than firm, and the acidity holds everything in balance so the last glass tastes as good as the first.
This is the kind of red a Spanish family would open on a Wednesday without ceremony. It suits grilled lamb chops, a plate of chorizo, or a bowl of lentils and sausage on a cold night. Serve it a touch below room temperature to bring out the freshness, and enjoy the fact that it is vegan certified.
