Why we chose it

“Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay — cool-climate Tumbarumba fruit, more restrained than typical Australian Chardonnay. Mineral, tight and beautifully made. The anti-big-butter Chardonnay.”

About this wine

Cool-Climate Elegance in Every Sip

Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay is a beautifully refined expression of cool-climate winemaking, sourced from top vineyard sites in Tasmania, Tumbarumba and the Adelaide Hills. Vibrant and fresh, with layers of citrus, white peach and subtle toasted hazelnut, crisp acidity balances the rich, creamy texture and leads to a long, mineral-driven finish. Aged in French oak, Bin 311 showcases Penfolds' signature precision, each vintage crafted to highlight purity of fruit and regional character.

Enjoy lightly chilled at 10–12°C to bring out bright fruit and elegant oak complexity. Pairs wonderfully with grilled seafood, roast chicken or creamy pasta dishes.

About the producer

Penfolds is one of Australia's most iconic wine producers, founded in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary, who planted the first vines at Magill Estate near Adelaide. For over 180 years, the winery has pursued a philosophy of excellence and multi-regional blending, producing wines from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and beyond. Penfolds is best known for its Grange, Australia's most celebrated wine, and its enduring Bin series.
