Why we chose it

“Moscatel de Setúbal is one of Portugal’s great dessert wines — honeyed, orange peel, dried apricot. Rich and luscious but with enough acidity to stay fresh.”

About this wine

Sivipa Moscatel de Setúbal is a rich, aromatic dessert wine from Portugal's sun-drenched Setúbal Peninsula. Full of flavours of candied orange peel, honey, raisins and warm spice, it offers silky sweetness balanced by gentle acidity.

Perfect with custard tarts, almond cake or blue cheese, it's a beautifully expressive fortified wine that punches well above its price.

About the producer

Sivipa is a cooperative winery based in the Setúbal Peninsula south of Lisbon, specialising in Moscatel de Setúbal — one of Portugal's most distinctive fortified wines. Their Moscatel is produced from the indigenous Muscat of Alexandria grape grown in the region's calcareous clay soils, crafted in a traditional style that preserves the grape's extraordinary aromatic richness and honeyed sweetness.
