About this wine
The Soalheiro Alvarinho Classico is the benchmark wine from Quinta do Soalheiro, one of the Minho's most celebrated estates and the pioneer of single-varietal Alvarinho in Vinho Verde. The 2025 vintage shows everything that makes this grape so exciting: vibrant pale gold colour, an intense bouquet of white peach, citrus blossom, apricot and sea-salt minerality, and a palate that is beautifully dry and focused with a long, stony finish.
This is a white wine with real complexity and drive, far removed from the simple, prickly style most people associate with Vinho Verde. It shines alongside grilled sea bass, roasted cod, clams or moules marinière, and works equally well as a considered aperitif. Quinta do Soalheiro is a name worth knowing, and the Classico is the perfect introduction to their world.
