About this wine
The Waddesdon Rothschild Collection Vermentino is a crisp, modern white wine produced in the Pays d'Oc and selected by the wine team at Waddesdon Manor as part of their Rothschild Collection house wines. The range was created to offer excellent varietal expression and value, following extensive blind tastings, and this bottling sits somewhere between an Italian Sardinian Vermentino and a southern French white.
Pale straw with green highlights, it opens with fresh citrus, white peach, ripe pear and subtle Mediterranean herbs. The palate is bright and refreshing, with flavours of lemon zest, grapefruit, green apple and a gentle saline minerality, finishing dry, clean and lively. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10°C, ideally while young, alongside grilled sea bass or bream, king prawns, oysters and shellfish, Mediterranean salads, goats' cheese or light pasta dishes with herbs and olive oil.
