Join The Wine Shop Team – Your Chance to Work with Wine!

Are you organised, hands-on, and passionate about wine? We're looking for a reliable Stock Coordinator & Delivery Driver to join the Wine Shop team in Winscombe, Somerset.

About the Role

Job titleStock Coordinator & Delivery Driver
LocationWinscombe, Somerset
TypePart time
SalaryCompetitive, based on experience

The Wine Shop is a specialist wine retailer dedicated to providing high-quality wines to both trade customers and private individuals through our retail location and online sales. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and efficient logistics, ensuring that our wines reach our customers in perfect condition.

We are looking for a reliable and organised Stock Coordinator & Delivery Driver to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth deliveries to our trade customers — which include restaurants and bars — as well as private home addresses. Additionally, the role involves warehouse and stock management, fulfilling postal orders, and ensuring stock is available to fulfil retail and online orders efficiently.

What the Role Involves

Delivery

You will safely and efficiently deliver orders to trade customers and private home addresses in the local area, maintaining excellent customer service while representing the company. You'll ensure timely and accurate delivery, organise your own schedules and routes, handle orders with care to prevent damage during transport, and keep the delivery vehicle clean and fuelled.

Stock and Warehouse

You will manage stock levels across retail, trade, and online channels; conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records; prepare and pack online orders with correct packing materials; and maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and organised state. Liaising with suppliers and internal teams regarding stock requirements is also part of the role.

Hours and Requirements

The weekly hours are 15, preferably spread over Wednesday and Friday, or potentially three days including those. During the busy Christmas period (November to December), hours are likely to increase. We also require occasional evening work when hosting events, though this will not exceed three to four times per year. We aim to be flexible to suit both you and the needs of the business.

The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving licence with a clean record, previous experience in a delivery or stock management role, strong organisational skills, and the ability to lift and carry wine (it's heavy). An interest in wine, or a willingness to learn, is an advantage. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, a company pension scheme, employee discounts on wines and spirits, and the opportunity to learn about and taste wines. You'll be working with a passionate and friendly team, with career growth opportunities within the company.
