About this wine

Signature is the top red from Domaine Fabrice Gasnier, a deeply characterful Chinon made from 100% Cabernet Franc. Inviting floral and gently roasted aromas sit over dark fruit, opening into a lively palate of warm red and black fruit carried by fresh acidity and fine, polished tannins. The 2021 is complex and beautifully structured, drinking well now with plenty of time to develop further in the bottle. It shows exactly why Loire Cabernet Franc has such a devoted following.

The grapes come from two small plots of 80 to 85 year old vines on south-facing clay and limestone, farmed biodynamically and certified organic. After a long 32-day maceration, the wine ferments on wild yeasts in concrete before twelve months in French oak. It is a superb partner for rib of beef, roast leg of lamb, duck breast or game, and makes a memorable gift for any lover of classic French red wine. Suitable for vegans.
