Why we chose it“Herdade São Miguel Tinto from Alentejo — dark, structured and warmly Portuguese. A good estate wine from one of the region’s more reliable producers.”

About this wine
Herdade de São Miguel is a large modern estate in the Alentejo — the warm, sun-baked southern plains of Portugal that produce some of the country's most characterful and food-friendly reds. Owned by the Relvas family near Vidigueira, the estate works with indigenous Portuguese varieties including Aragonez and Trincadeira, producing wines of genuine Alentejo warmth and personality at an accessible price.
Deep ruby with a bold, inviting nose of dark plum, cassis, dried herb and a hint of warm oak spice. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate with ripe, generous fruit and a warm, satisfying finish. A natural match for grilled steak, slow-roasted pork, lamb or robust tomato-based pasta dishes.
