I had never tried not tried alcohol free wine before, but I was served this wine at the Paris House restaurant in the Woburn Estate, and it was wonderful. It's rich and fruity and very drinkable, although possibly a little on the sweet side.
Thank you for your review, Anthony. What a wonderful introduction to wine — the Paris House at Woburn is a pretty special setting for a first glass! The Doppio Passo Non-Alcoholic Primitivo has all the richness and depth of a full-bodied red, and we are so pleased it made such a great first impression. We hope it is the first of many!
I bought a few bottles of this excellent red wine some months ago from The Wine Shop, I was so impressed by the velvety smooth, rich and fruity flavour that I have just ordered another 13 bottles, it is now my "go to" wine.
Thank you for your review, Andy. Doppio Passo Primitivo Puglia takes its name from the 'double pass', with some of the grapes left to dry on the vine before pressing, and that is where the velvety weight and dark fruit comes from. There is no better compliment than a wine earning a permanent place on someone's rack. Thank you for coming back to us and for taking the time to share this.
Having lived in South Africa, and learned there about wine..... Pinotage is one of our favourites, Bon Courage being a new discovery from The Wine Shop.
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Pepper Tree Shiraz also excellent, but the Pinotage suits our taste perfectly, at a very suitable price.
Thank you for your review, Jimm. With South Africa as your wine education, you know Pinotage better than most — so it means a great deal to hear that the Bon Courage has won you over. Rich, smoky and distinctly South African, it's a brilliant bottle at a brilliant price. Wonderful to hear the Cabernet Sauvignon and Pepper Tree Shiraz are going down well too. We hope to keep you well stocked!
Great Italian red that is very smooth and well balanced. Complements most dishes and is also wonderful on its own. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your review, Graham. The Doppio Passo Primitivo is a real crowd-pleaser — those rich, sun-drenched Pugliese grapes give it a depth that works beautifully at the dinner table or simply on its own. A fantastic choice!
Excellent. Replaced a bottle I'd finished. Ordered on a Friday, delivered the following Monday, expertly packed and protected in a specially designed box.
Thank you for your review, Johanna. The Jules Gautret Pineau des Charentes Blanc is a wonderful bottle, and we are delighted it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. We look forward to your next order!
Recommended by friends at the Wine Fair, we were also pleased with the Crociani. If wines are "biological", with a good taste, then so much the better.
We complemented it (or vice versa) with Italian meatballs and tagliatelle, which went down well
The wine has a floral scent and dryish fruity taste, slightly lighter at 12.5% than our usual choices, but good for the price, and our second bottle will emerge shortly!
Thank you, Jimm & Jane. A great find from the Wine Fair! Crociani is a family-run Montepulciano producer, and this organic Rosso is exactly the sort of versatile Italian red we love to recommend. Enjoy bottle number two!
This is without doubt the King of Pastis. It has a full rounded flavour which puts all other brands in the shade. Certainly worth the extra money. Wouldn’t touch any other pastis.
Thanks, Jane, for your fantastic review. Henri Bardouin Pastis is renowned for its complex blend of botanicals, which gives it an incredible depth of flavour.
We’re delighted it’s become your favourite, and we look forward to supplying your next bottle.
This wine is beautifully delicate and light. One of the best white wines I’ve had.
Thank you for your review, Katerina. The Folli & Benato Gavi is a lovely example of what this corner of Piedmont does so well. That fresh, mineral character that lifts a meal without overpowering it. So glad it hit the spot, and we hope to see you back at The Wine Shop soon.
Amazing taste, very light, perfect for a summers day !
Thank you for your review, Mandy. The Botter Prosecco is a real summer favourite, fine bubbles and delicate fruit make it perfect for warm days. We hope there are many more of them to come!
Rich, Smooth, Full bodied.
This is going to be a permanent fixture for me!
Thank you for your review, Anthony. The Castelo do Vinteiro has a way of doing that! A wonderful Portuguese red that really delivers on depth and character. We are delighted to have it as a permanent fixture in your glass.
Looking for a light easy going red to go with burgers and quiche and Kelli in the shop suggested this. We quaffed , enjoyed and will order more 😁
Thank you, Anna. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the Folli & Benato Barbera d’Asti and that Kelli was able to recommend the perfect wine for your summer buffet. Barbera is such a versatile Italian red, and it’s great to know it paired so well with burgers, quiche and relaxed summer dining.
Thank you for your review, Marella. ERA Organic Prosecco keeps a proper crisp, dry finish alongside softer pear and white blossom notes, and being certified organic makes it an easy one to recommend. Glad it hit the mark, and thank you for taking a moment to leave a review.
Thank you for your review, John. The Lyre's American Malt is crafted to capture the character of a bourbon-style spirit without the alcohol, and we appreciate that non-alcoholic alternatives won't suit everyone's palate. If you would like to discuss finding something that works better for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will do our best to help.
This is brilliant stuff. And the Wine Shop is such a treat to deal with - efficient, helpful and on the ball.
Thank you.
Thank you for your review, Veronica. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the Botter Prosecco Frizzante. With its light sparkle, fresh fruit character and distinctive spago closure, it's a wonderfully Italian fizz. We're also pleased that our service made a positive impression and that everything arrived smoothly.
Thank you for choosing The Wine Shop.
Great evening, with some nice wines. The atmosphere was very good and Vlad & Georgio presented and told us about the wines/processes in a very professional manner......with humour thrown in for good measures. An excellent evening.
Thank you for your review, Philip. We're delighted you enjoyed the Odessos Urban Winery tasting evening. Odessos produces a fascinating range of modern Bulgarian wines, and it was a pleasure to welcome Vlad and Georgio to share the winery's story, winemaking approach and unique urban winery concept. Creating relaxed, informative events where guests can discover something new while enjoying great company is exactly what we aim for.
Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back to another tasting soon.
