Why we chose it“Les Remparts de Bastor-Lamontagne is the second wine of a great Sauternes estate — botrytised Semillon, honey and apricot at a much more accessible price. A genuine bargain.”

About this wine
The Second Wine of Château Bastor-Lamontagne, Sauternes
Château Bastor-Lamontagne is one of the finest estates in Sauternes, located in the commune of Preignac near the legendary Château d'Yquem. Les Remparts is the château's second wine — a gateway to the house's distinctive style of botrytised dessert wine, made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes affected by noble rot, which gives Sauternes its unrivalled richness and complexity.
Honeyed apricot, ripe peach and marmalade on the nose, the palate is lusciously sweet but beautifully balanced with refreshing acidity that keeps each sip lively. A refined and approachable Sauternes, wonderful alongside fresh foie gras, soft blue cheese or simply on its own as a luxurious dessert wine.
