About this wine
Odessos Venchan Riesling 2024 is a beautifully precise, small-production white wine from a single vineyard near Venchan village on Bulgaria's Black Sea Coast. Crafted from 20-year-old vines rooted in sandy-clay limestone soils, this expressive Riesling combines freshness with remarkable depth and character. Only 2,000 bottles are produced, making this a genuinely limited discovery for lovers of distinctive European white wines.
Hand-harvested and made with minimal intervention, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation before ageing on fine lees for three months, followed by a full year in bottle before release. The result is a beautifully focused Riesling with aromas of lime, beeswax and a subtle hint of classic petroleum, leading into a tight, lean and rich palate with citrus peel, flint and delicate waxy complexity. A superb match for Thai dishes, seafood, shellfish, fresh cheeses and lightly spiced cuisine.
