About this wine

A Rare Australian Tawny of Exceptional Depth

Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny 20 Year Old represents the pinnacle of Australian fortified winemaking. Drawn from an ancient solera system and aged for a minimum of 20 years on average, it delivers extraordinary complexity — layers of dark fruit cake, roasted walnuts, orange peel, coffee and aged cedar on a silky, incredibly long finish.

This is a wine to be savoured slowly and respectfully, ideally as a digestif or alongside mature hard cheeses, Christmas pudding or dark chocolate. A world-class fortified from Penfolds that speaks of decades of patience and expertise.

About the producer

Penfolds is one of Australia's most iconic wine producers, founded in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary, who planted the first vines at Magill Estate near Adelaide. For over 180 years, the winery has pursued a philosophy of excellence and multi-regional blending, producing wines from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and beyond. Penfolds is best known for its Grange, Australia's most celebrated wine, and its enduring Bin series.
