About this wine

Rupert & Rothschild Classique is one of South Africa's most respected red blends, bringing together the richness of Cabernet Sauvignon, the plush fruit of Merlot and the structure of Cabernet Franc. Produced in the prestigious Western Cape, this beautifully balanced wine delivers layers of ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry and plum, alongside notes of cedar, tobacco and subtle spice from careful oak ageing.

Smooth, polished and wonderfully refined, this is a superb choice for roast lamb, steak, slow-cooked beef dishes or mature hard cheeses. The Classique offers impressive depth and complexity while remaining approachable and elegant, making it equally suited to dinner parties, gifting or simply enjoying with a great meal.

About the producer

Rupert and Rothschild Vignerons was established in 1997 through a partnership between the Rupert family of South Africa and Baron Edmond de Rothschild of France, at the historic Huguenot farm of Fredericksburg in the Franschhoek Valley. The estate produces a prestige range including the Classique Bordeaux blend and Baroness Nadine Chardonnay from hand-harvested fruit across over 100 hectares of Western Cape vineyards, standing as a landmark of South African fine wine.
